The set-up
Holly holds the authority here. She sets the terms of the session and he takes them, because he has nothing to bargain with: he did not make the grade, he is booked in alone, and the session is closed by design.
A second woman from the same squad has her own interest in him. She follows him, works out what these sessions actually are, and the series turns on what she does with it — first a threat aimed at the captain, then a request to be included.
